Good news from Pisa: the Leaning Tower is no longer falling over. Thanks to the ministrations of engineers, technicians and scientists led by Michele Jamiolkowski, professor emeritus at the Turin Polytechnic, after 18 years of closures, the tower’s inclination and the counter weights have stabilised.
“All the most optimistic forecasts have been confirmed. We can now say that the Leaning Tower is safe for at least 300 years,” said Professor Jamiolkowski.
