Breaking News — Reports are coming out of Burma saying the military authorities—after the election farce—have signed an order authorizing the release of Aung San Suu Kyi. But the Nobel laureate pro-democracy leader is not expected to accept a conditional release if it excludes her from political activity. (

What an example she is for the Burmese people! Inadvertently the Junta have made her a powerful, living legend, a monument far more imposing than any of them could ever aspire to be.
ReplyDeleteAfter all the physical and psychological torture, all the humiliation she has suffered from, she would hardly be expected to accept any release that excludes her from the very principle of democracy for which she has been tirelessly fighting for so long.
